📌 Karnataka and Tamil Nadu have already allowed 12 hours workdays to factories.

Does that mean workers need to work for 4 hours extra daily ?

📌 As the companies need is 48 labour hours a week. So by working 12 hours a day, laborers will work for 4 days a week only.

What is the benefit of 12 hour work policy for manufacturers?

1) No more night shifts - cost efficient
2) No more shift changing breaks - Time savings
3) Less breaks - More productivity
4) Since migrant workers are the largest in the manufacturing sector, they can earn more by doing some other work for another 3 days.

What are all the issues?

1) Though this policy is welcomed by the manufacturers, but for the workers, their opinions are contrary.
2) Main issues for women workers, because of this 12 hours policy, companies may not be encouraged to recruit women labourers.
